Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
